Make Invoicing Easier with DP Billing
DP Billing
has always been the most popular add-on module for DrugPak and
it is easy to see why: every business needs to invoice their
clients and DP Billing makes it easy!
DP Billing was the first add-on
module for DrugPak and as we said, it continues to be the most
popular add-on. The simple idea is that you setup your
prices in DP Billing and enter your results into
DrugPak. With a few easy steps, DP Billing combines your
prices together with your result records and creates accurate,
easy-to-read invoices.
Various
Prices
It is normal for organizations in the
substance abuse testing industry to have a wide variety of
prices depending on result volume, types of services, and
special arrangements. DP Billing can address all kinds
of price variations from the simple to the complex. If
you charge different prices for pre-employment testing or
random selections, for DOT or non-mandated testing, and/or
based on any other factors, DP Billing makes it easy to setup
your price schedule and calculate your invoices. If your
prices depend on which laboratory or collection site is used,
all charges can be computed automatically. If one client
gets a different price than others you can easily customize
their price. Advanced features make it possible to
compute prices on other variables including what time the
collection was performed, which MRO verified the result, and
even customizable values!
Invoice
Layouts
DP Billing allows various formats for the
invoice such as grouping, subtotaling, and custom
layouts. The detail text can be customized to your (or
your clients') requirements (i.e. display SSN-masked or plain,
CCF# and name, just CCF#, or a combination of many
variables).
Export to Accounts
Receivable
Once your invoices are ready to send to
your clients you can also send the invoice data to your
accounting software. DP Billing is equipped with export
functions compatible with Peachtree
Accounting, QuickBooks, and custom solutions can be
created for other accounting packages. When you receive
payment on your invoices, your A/R software will already be
waiting for them!

New "Follow-Up Test" Generation
Expert
One of the new features introduced to DrugPak in
recent updates is a new version of the Follow-Up Test
Generation function.
The new "FUP Expert" has two main
differences from the old tool. First, it can
schedule ONE follow-up test per-month on a regular basis
or multiple tests per month on a
random schedule. It can do either for a
selected number of months. Second, it creates
an "open FUP" result record (similar to an open RND
result) for you to complete once you have a
result.
To enable the new FUP Expert you must be logged
into DrugPak as the Master user. Open the
Preferences menu and select Global Settings. Click
on "Advanced Options" on the left and then turn on the
check box labeled "Use new follow-up test generation
expert." The old FUP scheduling system and the new
one are not compatible with one another. Once the
new feature has been enabled you will not be able to
access (print or view) FUP schedules that were generated
in the old FUP expert. Make sure to print or
otherwise close-out FUP schedules made in the old FUP
expert before activating the new one.
The new expert allows you to schedule in three
ways. First, you can select a date (exact date,
the weekday falling before or the weekday falling
after). Second, you can select which day of the
week (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or last week) and which type of
day (weekday or weekend). With both of these
methods, one test per month for a selected number
of months can be scheduled. Third, you can
randomly schedule. In this case you can select a
number of tests per month to be scheduled and the number
of months to schedule them in, each month will have the
selected number of FUP tests scheduled on random
dates.
Once tests have been scheduled then you can create
notification letters and schedules. You can also
view scheduled FUP tests through the company and
participant windows. A new tab on each of those
windows lists the FUP tests (for all participants in
that company or for that participant) and provides
buttons to print the displayed schedule and notification
letters. Double-clicking a test from the grid
opens the result window and displays the selected
test.

DOT "Best Practices"
Document
In 2007 a document was posted on the
U.S.
Department of Transportation web site
that addresses several common questions
that DrugPak users often pose to DrugPak technical
support representatives. This "Best
Practices" document should be helpful to new and
experienced staff working in mandated substance
abuse testing. While we, here at DrugPak, are
not DOT authorities and cannot provide clarification or
explanation of DOT rules, we feel that it is
important to provide any assistance we can in
finding answers to your questions. Check out
